On April 22nd we welcomed the newest little addition to our family!

The evolution of man (in art)

March 3rd, 2010 · 2 Comments · bridget

Its been awhile since I’ve posted pictures of Bridget’s drawings… but I must say, her people drawing skills have evolved quite a bit over the last year or two.
I noticed the detail she was putting into some birthday cards she was making a couple of weeks ago, and decided it was time to show off [...]

November

January 24th, 2010 · 4 Comments · a day in the life, bridget, dave, family, food, siblings, spencer, tina

The highlights from November include Bridget’s 4th birthday and Thanksgiving.
For months, Dave had been teasing Bridget that we would be skipping her birthday and that she would have to stay 3 years old for another year. Her reactions varied from day to day. Either she knew he was kidding, or she was sincerely devastated. The [...]

October

January 18th, 2010 · 5 Comments · a day in the life, bridget, dave, family, random, spencer, tina

In the spirit of catching up…
This past October (2009) we decided, nearly on a whim, to pack up and take a trip to California/Disneyland.
Disneyland is always a fun place, and it seemed like good timing where we were out from under our mortgage payment, and hadn’t starting building the house yet.
We went the week before [...]

Do you know what we did this summer?

November 7th, 2009 · 9 Comments · a day in the life, bridget, dave, domestic attempts, family, high school, random, siblings, spencer, tina

Its no secret that I am further behind on my blogging than I have ever been before. The thought of catching up one post at a time was quite daunting, and just pretending like the last several months never happened (and not blogging about them at all) didn’t seem right either.
So, I went through my [...]

Smurfettes

August 3rd, 2009 · 3 Comments · a day in the life, bridget

We ended a hard day of playing at the apartment last week with Bridget and her friend, Katie, drawing on the sidewalk with chalk… at least it started with the sidewalk. Before too long, both girls were a lovely shade of smurf blue.
I’m pretty sure that the blue wasn’t completely accidental either… I occasionally caught [...]

From the Archives

I’m behind in my blogging. Its no secret.
I’ll catch up one of these days, but in the meantime, here’s a picture of my girl in curlers! Its from back in May, just prior to the “Damsel in Distress” photos we took on the tracks. I think she looks adorable in curlers!
The first image was taken [...]

UP

June 6th, 2009 · 4 Comments · bridget, dave, family, random, tina

We took Bridget to see the new 3D Pixar flick earlier this week, UP.
It was a pretty cool movie, and it was kinda fun to wear the 3D glasses too!
Bridget was a little scared a couple of times, particularly when the “bad guys” (and scary dogs) got a little too close for comfort - ah, [...]

Grandpa’s Pancakes

May 30th, 2009 · 6 Comments · bridget, family, food, random

Growing up, my dad would make us these fun-shaped pancakes. I remember a lot of mickey mouse heads and vaguely remember a character with a large hat… goofy maybe? Or the wolf from the Three Little Pigs story. He got pretty creative with them. Lots of shapes, and lots of fun memories.
Last month the kids [...]
