Enjoy it!<\/p>\n<p><strong>True Christmas Joy<br \/>\n<\/strong>Tennett Morrell<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Twas the day before Christmas, a long time ago<br \/>\nAnd our beautiful earth was all covered with snow;<br \/>\nDown the street with their sleighs came two manly boys,<br \/>\nWho paused at the window to look at the toys.<\/p>\n<p>Already two others were there looking in;<br \/>\nBut their faces were sad, and their clothes old and thin.<br \/>\nAnd the little one said, &#8220;Is it because we&#8217;re so poor<br \/>\nThat Santa doesn&#8217;t come to our house anymore?&#8221;<br \/>\nThe older one patted his wee brother&#8217;s head,<br \/>\nAnd hugged him up closely, as softly he said:<br \/>\n&#8220;Oh, maybe he will come tonight, little Tim,<br \/>\nIf we ask in our prayers for the Lord to send him!&#8221;<br \/>\nThe little face smiled, but the boys saw a tear<br \/>\nIn the eye of the one who quelled little Tim&#8217;s fear.<br \/>\nThen slowly and sadly the waifs went their way<br \/>\nTo the place they called home, where that night they would pray.<br \/>\nThe boys, with their sleighs, followed closely behind,<br \/>\nAnd neither one spoke, but in each childish mind<br \/>\nA beautiful thought said as plain as can be:<br \/>\n&#8220;I&#8217;ll share with those poor boys what Santa brings me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When the two reached their home, to their father they ran,<br \/>\nAnd eagerly told him their unselfish plan.<br \/>\nHe was proud of his boys, who now felt that same love<br \/>\nThat sent our dear Savior from His home above.<br \/>\nNext morning, still thrilled with their beautiful thought,<br \/>\nThey scampered downstairs to see what Santa brought,<br \/>\nAnd they, with the help of their father and mother,<br \/>\nSelected the presents for Tim and his brother.<\/p>\n<p>And as the first light of dawn came into view,<br \/>\nThe two went their way with toys bright and new,<br \/>\nAnd crept very quietly up to the door<br \/>\nWhere they&#8217;d seen the boys enter the evening before.<br \/>\nAs they hurried back home toward their own Christmas joys,<br \/>\nThey could not even dream how the other two boys,<br \/>\nOn finding that Santa had really been there,<br \/>\nSent their joy to the One who had answered their prayer.<br \/>\nThat night, when the &#8220;Santas&#8221; were ready for bed,<br \/>\nWith a hand of their father on each curly head,<br \/>\nThey knew, as they thought of two poor, happy boys,<br \/>\nWhat&#8217;s the truest and choicest of all Christmas joys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This has been my favorite Christmas poem for as as long as I can remember.
