It was one of Dave&#8217;s childhood favorites. And boy, were they good!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.ernstrom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01.26_pbFingers.png\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Peanut Butter Fingers<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Edith Wall (Lived across the street from Grandma Harmer)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1\/2 c. margarine, softened<br \/>\n1\/3 c. + 2 t. sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 c. + 1 T. brown sugar<br \/>\n1 egg<br \/>\n1 t. vanilla<br \/>\n1\/2 c. peanut butter<br \/>\n1\/2 t. baking soda<br \/>\n1 c. flour<br \/>\n1\/4 t. salt<br \/>\n1 c. oats<\/p>\n<p><em>Topping<\/em><br \/>\n1\/2 c. peanut butter<br \/>\n1 tub chocolate frosting<br \/>\nCombine margarine, sugars, egg, vanilla, and peanut butter. Combine dry ingredients, and add to wet.<\/p>\n<p>Spread into greased 9&#215;13&#8243; pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Let sit a couple of minutes then spread with an additional 1\/2 c. peanut butter.<\/p>\n<p>Cool, and frost with chocolate frosting.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But wait. . .<\/p>\n<p>Whats this?<\/p>\n<p>Dave?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.ernstrom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01.26_pbFingers2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Are you? . . . Dave insisted that he make these all by himself. I wasn&#8217;t even permitted in the kitchen. He claims that he hates to cook, but the handful of times he is caught in the kitchen he always manages to come out with something really yummy.  Maybe if I ask nicely he&#8217;ll make his rice pudding or his chicken enchiladas later this week. Please, Dave.
