LOST – season finale

May 30th, 2008 · 6 Comments · random

What was that?

I guess we know now how the 6 came to be the ones to get off the island, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions. What is going on with Jack and Kate? And why, really, has Jack let himself go so much? And WHY is he listening to Ben? And what’s with Kate’s nightmare about Claire? What does Sayid want with Hugo? Desmond & Penny? Is her dad really behind a lot of this? Sun met with him… common interests? Where the heck is the island? How did Ben end up in the desert? And what was Sayid doing there?
They’re not really going to go back, are they? If they do, what will that accomplish?

There are so many theories, but this show is so complex… the plot so abstract… I just don’t know what to think.

I don’t think I can wait until the fall.

Ok. That is all. I am done now.
If you watched the finale last night though, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

I have as many questions as you? What now, they go back? Why? Also what about Locke, he’s dead? And they are calling him something else? Why was Kate crying and saying sorry to Erin? Sorry for what?
Next season will definitely be interesting. There are certainly a lot of questions to be answered!

Here goes LOST according to me:
-Jack can’t be with Kate because of how he had that vision of Charlie telling him he’s not supposed to raise Aaron. Obviously he can’t be with Kate if he can’t be with Aaron. Of course Kate doesn’t understand that, so she’s just hurt and mad.
-Jack starts loosing it when he starts having those visions of his dad. He takes the drugs in hopes that they’ll help, but he just gets addicted. Think about how crazy you’d be if you couldn’t ever sleep and you always had to watch your back!
-Jack feels guilty about all of the people left behind on the island. He’s concerned for their safety, and in his altered state, he believes Ben.
-Claire time travels to appear in a vision to Kate cause she doesn’t want Aaron going back to the island. OR the island sends Kate that vision because it doesn’t want her back. I’m not sure which one.
-Sayid is working for Ben, who has revealed that he needs all of the Oceanic 6 in order to return to the island. So Sayid is collecting Hurley for that purpose.
-Desmond and Penny now have to disappear. Her dad would be livid if he found out about them.
-I do think that Penny’s dad has been to the island, and perhaps is the leader of the old Dharma. Also, from way off in left field, I think the redhead (Charlotte) is also his daughter.
-Sun is so angry with Jack for letting Jin die (in her opinion) that she’ll do anything. I don’t think she’s convinced that Jin is dead, and wants Penny’s dad to help her get back to see if he’s still alive.
    – I have no idea where the island is. All I know is that in the video that Locke watched, the Asian guy said that the time machine made the bunny seem to disappear for a few seconds. So maybe it’s in the same place, but in a different time?
-Ben goes to the desert to recruit Sayid to his cause. Sayid is there for the funeral of his wife.
-I think they will all eventually go back, for their own various reasons. Some of them might be taken back by force. But I don’t know what it will help.

My question is, what about the scientist guy and all the extras he had on that life boat? Do they just die at sea?

  • Mother of the Wild Boys

Oh yeah, and I guessed that it would be either Ben or Locke in the coffin.

  • Tina

Wow Shauntae… you’ve really thought about this.

The thought that Jin is not dead has also crossed my mind… the redhead theory is interesting – we assume she was born on the island…hmm.
We guessed it would be Ben in the coffin. Didn’t occur to me that it might be Locke.

And the people on the boat with the scientist… I’d guess dead – they were all no names anyway.

The island theory is also interesting.

Ashame we have to wait till fall. 🙂

Hilarie – I’m confused on the part about calling Locke a different name too… my best guess is that since they are lying about everyone else having died in the crash they’d have a lot of explaining to do if Locke were suddenly around again. I’d guess Locke made up the alias himself (since it was his idea for Jack to lie in the first place).

Ok, I finally got to watch the finale! Life is too crazy. But here’s our 2 cents:

Yeah, Locke would have to have a different name for the lie to make sense. Besides, how many different aliases does Ben have? He has apparently traveled off the island quite a bit.

Chris thinks that Charles Widmore is somehow linked to the Black Rock. Remember he bought the Captain’s journal at an auction?

We’re also predicting a Sawyer and Juliet hook-up.

Chris thinks that Charlotte is similar to Locke in the sense that she has some kind of connection with the Island. Shaunte – I like your theory that she is Widmore’s daughter.

We were also wondering about Claire – is she being held against her will or under the island’s power? She acted completely out of character when she was with Christian in the Cabin. And what’s happened that would keep her from wanting Aaron back on the island?

As for Jack, I think he’s a druggie now because of a combination of things. He’s seen his dad, he and Kate can’t seem to keep things together. He also found out that Claire is his half-sister, which makes Aaron his nephew. Hurley gave him the message from Charlie about Aaron and Locke came back to tell him that all the bad stuff that’s been happening on the island is his fault. Considering the fact that he felt it was his responsibility to get every one of the island – it gotta be a bummer to realize that you actually made the situation worse. Not to mention the fact that he doesn’t really know what’s going on with the island anyway. It’s not like Ben ever gave him much in the way of details.

Unfortunately, it’s not starting back up in the fall. I think it’s back in February. Guess I’ll be watching the DVD’s until then!
