What??? Seriously? What is a “self-audit”? I think I’m having a little anxiety attack for you. I would rather be doing just about anything than paperwork or filing…what a way to start the week.
Its a joke!! I got about 12 pages of information and FAQ’s in the mail… Basically, I have to go through every transaction for the past 3 YEARS and verify that I charged the right amount of sales tax, and that I paid the right amount to the State each year. If I find an error I have to report it and pay whatever difference I should have paid.
If I don’t find errors I have to explain why I’m perfect. Ha.
It really makes me wish I had “pretty” books. My business is only 4 years old (and not very big) – I’m still learning what I’m doing. And I’m super disorganized. I think I’ll be purchasing Quick Books after this.
I’m right there with you on the anxiety attack. It pretty much sucks.
